How it all Began:
An idea was presented to the County Manager and a County Commissioner in January 2018, the idea being, that as a community we needed to help those struggling with substance use and mental health issues, and provide support for the families. Our goal was to fill in the gaps of existing services and not duplicate but support those already working with this population. From that meeting, we had two work sessions with more than eighty people attending. The group was made up of providers, teachers, law enforcement, county and town officials, Macon County Health Department, Department of Social Services, ministers, veterans, people in recovery, and others. Information was collected at both meetings and from that No Wrong Door opened the doors on March 25, 2019, to provide peer-based services.
